About Herts Canine

Hi, my name is MARK MAYHO and I own Herts Canine which formed in 2004.

I qualified as a Canine Behaviour Consultant in 2000 and have been training dogs on a full time basis ever since, prior to this I worked in veterinary surgeries rescue and boarding kennels.

Having worked with thousands of different dogs and their owners every case I deal with is different.
I see ‘mild’ behaviour issues such as dogs who pull on the lead and those that do not return to their owners when off the lead to more serious problems such as aggression and phobias. I train dogs either through one-to-one training in the owners home, fields close to their home, or through group classes throughout Hertfordshire.

I am often called upon to give expert evidence in court relating to dog behaviour and welfare issues.

In 2008 I qualified as a Canine Hydrotherapist and set up a Canine Hydrotherapy Centre in Hemel Hempstead. Here with the help of my team we succsessfully treat dogs with all types of conditions such as arthritis and hip dysplaysia to name a few.

Attached to the centre I have Hemel Dog Wash. This is a purpose built wash room to bath dogs with our top of the range equipment. This is open and available seven days a week.

I also offer dog boarding for people who are either out for the day or away on holiday. Having worked in boarding kennels I know how important it is for dog to be happy and comfortable in your absence. The dogs that stay with us are kept in home environments and treated as one of the family,

Dog walking is also available. We do not group walk dogs but give them individual one on one attention.

In January 2012 I was recognised as a 'Master Dog Trainer' by The Guild of Dog Trainers!

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my four Rottweilers Tia, Genna, Pippa and Zac and Labrador Lara
